About Us
Lead by an educational team of experienced international travelers, Redhawk Texpeditions has arguably become one of the largest, most successful, and best equipped student travel affiliates in North Texas.

Although immersed in the digital world around them, today’s students often lack the cultural awareness and understanding of true global citizens. Redhawk Texpeditions, therefore, evolved from a desire to expand this cultural understanding by pairing the educational content of oversea travel with an equal measure of adventure and exploration.
​
Now, nearly a decade since its inception, Redhawk Texpeditions has safely guided hundreds of student travelers to exciting destinations throughout much of Continental Europe as well as Japan. Our uniquely tailored itineraries balance essential structure and security with opportunities for independent exploration and discovery. At Redhawk Texpeditions our objective is twofold: to carefully maintain our focus on the student traveler experience, and to leverage our travel provider’s resources for the best return on our traveler community’s investments.

Our future plans include helping to develop additional campus-level travel programs throughout Frisco ISD, as well as 501c3 incorporation to address our growing operational challenges, and to better support fundraising initiatives within our student traveler community.​

Meet Our Travel Team
David J. Volkmar
Group Leader
Redhawk One Coach Leader
An experienced world traveler, David J. Volkmar has visited 31 countries on five continents. Currently, he teaches both AP Language and Composition and English II Advanced at Liberty High School in Frisco ISD. David graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, and began his teaching career in Dallas ISD where he served for a number of years as the English Department Chair, AP Language and Composition Instructor, and Academic Competitions Coach at W. T. White High School. Teaching is actually his second career for David, as he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps upon graduating from high school. He served in multiple capacities throughout his Marine Corps career to include as an instrumentalist with the Third Marine Aircraft Wing Band at Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro, CA, as well as a machine gunner during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. When not teaching or traveling, David enjoys motorcycling and reading.
Ashley Worsham
Lead Chaperone
Coach Coordinator
A seasoned world traveler, Ashley Worsham has visited more than a dozen countries including less common destinations such as Liechtenstein and Slovakia. Currently, she teaches American Studies and English II at Liberty High School in Frisco ISD. Ashley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX, and has spent her entire teaching career in Frisco, where she has not only received the District’s Distinguished Teacher Recognition for her demonstration of leadership, contribution to the profession of education, and promotion of academic excellence, but was a recent Teacher of the Year Nominee.
