Hotel Information

General Hotel Information:

Although most of our time on tour will be spent exploring, a good night's sleep in a safe, clean, and comfortable hotel is certainly important. Note that EF staff inspect each hotel personally prior to contracting service, and that traveler feedback is solicited following each stay.

Please keep in mind that groups may not all be roomed next to each other and may be on different floors. Additionally, some hotels may be located outside the city center, and travel groups may occasionally be co-located in adjacent hotels depending upon group size.

Also, be mindful of these common differences between North American and European hotels:

-
Many European hotels are privately and/or family owned and operated.
-
Generally, European hotel rooms are smaller than comparable rooms in the United States.
-
European hotel rooms often have multiple single and/or shared double beds, similar to the rooming configurations common to student-funded FISD state- and national-level competitions.
-
Certain European hotel rooms, particularly in the Alpine region, may not have air conditioning, or may feature "comfort conditioning", a less functional version of air circulation.
-
Not all European hotels, particularly those in smaller communities, have elevators; some European hotels rooms may not have television sets, although almost all do.
-
WiFi may not always be available, may only be available in the lobby, or may only be available for an additional charge.
-
Most European hotels will require you to place a key (or object of comparable size) in a slot on the wall near the door in order to turn on the lights.
-
Late check-ins may be necessary in some locations.
