General Passport Information:

A valid passport is required for travel on all EF Educational Tours. Travelers not currently in possession of a valid passport are encouraged to apply for one immediately upon enrolling, as passport applications often take up to 12 weeks to process. U.S. citizens traveling abroad must bring a passport that is valid for at least six months after your tour’s return and that has at least three blank pages remaining.

Your passport information must be provided to EF as soon as you've received it by logging in and visiting the My Tours Page of your EF Account. Verification of this information is required no later than 110 prior to the departure of your tour.

Ensure that the traveler's first, middle, and last name as entered on the EF account page match the corresponding passport information exactly, including punctuation and spacing. This information will be used when purchasing airline tickets, and airlines may not permit a passenger to board if the name on the ticket does not match the name on the passport exactly. Note that name changes after 110 days prior to scheduled departure carry a minimum $200 fee up to the cost of a new ticket.

A color scan of the signature page of each student traveler's passport will be captured during our final Pre-Departure Meeting. This capture will be carried in electronic form by Travel Team members throughout our itinerary. In the event a student traveler's passport is lost or stolen overseas, a Travel Team Member will accompany the student traveler to the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate to secure a replacement. Bear in mind such consular services are time-consuming, expensive, and will require a temporary withdrawal from the tour's daily activities. It is therefore imperative for all student travelers to either maintain direct possession of their passports or knowledge of their passports' locations at all times throughout the itinerary.

For additional passport information, please visit the U.S. Department of State Bureau for Consular Affairs. You may also live chat with a member of the EF Traveler Support Team on the EF website by clicking "EF" icon on the bottom-right corner of the screen, or by calling Traveler Support directly at 800-665-5364.

Foreign nationals traveling  on a passport issued by a country other than the United States should seek passport assistance from the issuing country.
